In my previous post, I mentioned the adventure that started with hitchhiking in the Black Sea region. In this post, I will share the second part of my journey with you. I will recount the adventures I experienced as I set off from Istanbul and progressed through the fascinating nature of the Black Sea. This journey, which stretched from Istanbul through Sakarya, Bolu, and Düzce all the way to Ordu, was filled with unforgettable memories.
Setting Off from Istanbul
I set out from Istanbul early in the morning. I was so excited to get away from the noise of the city and embark on an adventure intertwined with nature. My first destination was Sakarya, and my hitchhiking adventure began. As I was leaving Istanbul, it was wonderful to move away from the city crowd and head towards the peace of nature.
A Stopover in Sakarya
When I arrived in Sakarya, I took a short break at an old friend's house. We made stuffed vine leaves together, and while enjoying this delicious meal, I gathered energy for the rest of my journey. This warm welcome at my friend's house made the first hours of my trip special.
From Sakarya to Bolu
I continued my journey from Sakarya towards Bolu. While hitchhiking, a truck driver picked me up. This driver, named Mehmet Bey, told me about the beauties of the Black Sea and his own life story along the way. We drank plenty of tea and chatted throughout the trip. When I arrived in Bolu, the beauties of nature captivated me.
I explored the city by taking a short walk in Bolu. Bolu's clean air and green nature added a unique peace to my journey.
From Bolu to Düzce
After a short break in Bolu, I set off for Düzce. In Düzce, I had the opportunity to meet the congregation of Mescid-i Selam. Meeting these warm and hospitable people was one of the most unforgettable memories of my trip. I prayed with them and we had lovely conversations. The stories and hospitality of the congregation impressed me a lot.
From Düzce to Ordu
After the pleasant time in Düzce, I set off for Ordu. This time, I got into a car with a young couple. Along the way, I hitched rides with various private vehicles and trucks. The conversations I had with the drivers in the vehicles I boarded made my journey even more meaningful. Each of them had different stories, and listening to these stories made me very happy.
A Brief Stop in Ordu
When I arrived in Ordu, I first went up to Boztepe. Watching the panoramic view of Ordu from Boztepe was incredible. While going up by cable car, I had the opportunity to see all the beauties of the city.
I spent a short time in Ordu and walked along the coast. I visited the historical and cultural sites of the city, exploring old Ordu houses, small boutiques, and cafes I encountered while walking the streets. I also tried pide, one of the famous dishes of Ordu, and had the opportunity to chat with the local people. The people in Ordu were truly very hospitable, and this made me very happy.
This one-day hitchhiking trip in the Black Sea was an adventure full of unforgettable memories. Stretching from Istanbul through Sakarya, Bolu, and Düzce to Ordu, this journey captivated me with both the warmth of nature and its people.
The conversations I had with the drivers in the vehicles I boarded along the way allowed me to learn about different lives and stories. I tried to show you these moments by filming every part of this journey. I hope it was an entertaining video.
