Hello, I am Oğuzhan Tıraş, the owner of the YouTube and Facebook pages known on social media as "Yırtık Pantolon" (Ripped Pants), and I am also a full-time traveler. I am the author of the book titled Stories from Yırtık Pantolon and the founder of this website. I am here to help you save money on your next trip.

From Computer Engineering to a Traveler

I went on my first trip abroad at the age of 22. I went to Norway for my first trip in 2016. This experience changed my life. It opened me up to all the possibilities the world has to offer. There, I experienced another culture, the wildlife I had read about in books, and new foods; I got lost in the forests of Trolltunga; strangers found me and helped me; and I met people from all over the world.

I was the captain of my own ship. Every day was new and different.

From that moment on, I became a travel enthusiast.

The European trip I took the following year opened my eyes even more.

There, in the magnificent cities of Europe, I met five backpackers who showed me that I didn't need to be tied to a job or be rich to travel. I realized that you can travel long-term and on a budget, and millions of people do this every year. I wanted to be one of them. I wanted to do what they did.

After that journey, I returned home, graduated in Computer Engineering, left the smart home project I had started, and in June 2018, I embarked on a worldwide adventure that was expected to last only six months but continues to this day.

I have been to nearly 100 countries and regions, traveled hundreds of thousands of kilometers around the world, stayed in more than a thousand hostels, tried unique foods (including fried grubs), made lifelong friendships, learned multiple languages, and most importantly, just as those five backpackers helped me realize my dreams, I have now made it my mission to help travelers like YOU realize YOUR travel dreams.

The Birth of the Travel Adventure and Yırtık Pantolon

After graduating from university, I had a startup focused on smart home systems. Since I couldn't find what I was looking for in that sector, I decided to give everything up and set off on a world tour. In 2018, I started making professional travel vlogs. Tearing my pants while trying to take a photo in front of the "Dancing House" in Prague, Czech Republic, earned me the nickname "Yırtık Pantolon" (Ripped Pants).

Yırtık Pantolon Oğuzhan Tıraş introduces the countries he travels to on his YouTube channel and shares his cultural experiences with his followers. My videos about the Uyghur Turks, in particular, received great interest. So far, I have traveled to nearly 100 countries, and I plan to visit all 197 countries. I have nearly 2,000,000 travel companions on my social media accounts. I continue to actively produce content on social media platforms.
