Being a Guest in Ardeşen
The unique nature of the Black Sea and the warm hospitality of its people impress me anew every time I visit this region. This time, my route led me to the Ardeşen district of Rize. Upon the invitation of my dear friend Hilal, I became a guest in her home. Hilal, along with her sister and young niece, hosted me so beautifully that I felt right at home. After the night I spent there, we set off for the highlands early in the morning.
A Misty Day in Ayder Plateau
Our first stop was the Ayder Plateau, famous for its greenery. However, nature's surprises caught us off guard this time, as they always do. When we arrived at the plateau, we were greeted by dense fog and a light drizzle. Although the fog hid Ayder's beautiful views, it only added to the plateau's mystical atmosphere. The cool air on one side, and the trees that seemed lost in the mist on the other... Experiencing this moment was an adventure in itself.
An Opportunity to Camp at Zilkale
While exploring Ayder, I found out that three hitchhikers we coincidentally met were going to camp at Zilkale, and I gladly accepted their invitation. Combining the historic atmosphere of Zilkale with its nature, the idea of camping there truly excited me. Spending the night in the shadows of the castle walls, accompanied by the silence of the forest, was like the escape every city dweller occasionally needs. Experiencing this was a great stroke of luck.
A Morning at Pokut Plateau
The next morning, we set off for Pokut Plateau. Contrary to the misty weather of Ayder, we were greeted at Pokut by a view above the clouds. The serenity and beauty of the plateau made every moment we spent there unforgettable. I felt the peace of being at one with nature in every corner of the plateau. Faced with the mesmerizing scenery of Pokut Plateau, I wanted to share these beautiful moments I lived with you.
