In Beijing, the capital of China, I stayed at the home of my friend Yushan, whom I met through CouchSurfing. Yushan did everything she could to introduce me to Chinese culture and share her experiences. Yushan’s Turkey Adventure: 2000 km by Bicycle
About a month ago, Yushan returned from Turkey. She cycled from Istanbul to Mersin, and then to Ankara. This challenging 2000 km journey took one month, during which Yushan camped alone in her tent. This adventure of Yushan's shows how strong and determined a person she is. During her time in Turkey, she collected wonderful memories with Turkish people and received great support from them. For this reason, she wanted to help me out in Beijing as well.
The Art of Leather Crafting: Yushan’s Profession
Yushan has been practicing the art of leather crafting for 10 years. This is a profession that requires both manual dexterity and creativity. Yushan handcrafts decorations on various leather goods, especially bags, wallets, and belts. This art is considered a traditional craft in China and requires great mastery.
