Spending a Day with 50 Yuan in China: A Budget-Friendly Adventure in Beijing

Pekin’de 50 Yuan ile bir gün geçiren gezgin ve bütçe dostu yaşam macerası.

In this video, I invite you to join my adventure of spending a day in Beijing, the capital of China, with 50 Yuan (approximately 45 TL). Getting a visa for China is quite difficult, but since I have a green passport, I have the opportunity to stay in China for a month without a visa. Staying at the home of a friend I found through Couchsurfing, I started to discover how to manage my budget in this huge city.

Making Money and Budget-Friendly Living in Beijing

I went out to look for a place to play the ukulele to earn some money on the streets of Beijing. I had only 50 Yuan in my pocket, and this amount was very limited in a city like Beijing. However, by restricting myself significantly, I managed to spend the day with this money. Throughout the day, I went everywhere by subway and had different experiences on the streets. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, I ran out of money and couldn't catch the last subway train. However, this experience shed light on what a budget-friendly life can be like in Beijing.

Xinjiang Restaurant: Flavors Resembling Turkish Cuisine

While wandering around Beijing, I stumbled upon a Xinjiang restaurant and decided to eat there. Xinjiang cuisine offers flavors quite similar to Turkish cuisine. I chose to eat beef noodles. The meat, vegetables, and spices inside were in perfect harmony. The price of this delicious meal was only 20 Yuan (approximately 18 TL). Finding such budget-friendly restaurants in Beijing significantly lowers the cost of living in the city.

Beijing Subway: Economical Transportation Option

The method I preferred most for transportation in Beijing was the subway. Subway fares vary depending on the stations where you get on and off. The average ticket price is around 3 Yuan (approximately 2.6 TL). The subway provides both a fast and economical transportation option in a large city like Beijing.

Conclusion: A Day Spent with 50 Yuan in Beijing

Spending a day in Beijing with only 50 Yuan showed me both the cost of the city and what a budget-friendly life can look like. Even with a limited budget, you can have enjoyable moments in this massive city. If you are planning to go to Beijing one day, I suggest you consider the experiences I shared in this post and learn how you can spend time economically in the city. Greetings to you all from China, enjoy watching!
