The Cu Chi Tunnels, spanning a full 200 kilometers and bearing the marks of the Vietnam War, are home to some of history's darkest, yet most resilient stories of resistance. The fact that the Vietnamese lived in these tunnels for 25 years, closing their eyes to the darkness in the name of freedom, is a truly incredible example of struggle. It is known that 50,000 people lost their lives in these tunnels. So, what did I do? I entered these narrow tunnels with my 15-kilogram backpack and set out on a journey by crawling through this historic Vietnamese structure.

The History of the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Vietnam War
The Cu Chi Tunnels were the most remarkable defensive systems used against the Americans during the Vietnam War. However, the use of these tunnels dates back even further, to the French occupation. Forced to live in these hundreds of kilometers of tunnels, the Vietnamese waged an unrelenting struggle for their freedom.
My Own Experience in the Cu Chi Tunnels
Entering these tunnels requires courage! Crawling through them with my 15-kilogram backpack was both a physical and psychological test. The narrow structure of the tunnels and their dark atmosphere didn't let me catch my breath for a single moment. However, this experience allowed me to feel Vietnam's history of struggle up close.
