I Was Harassed While Traveling the World: My Experiences in Tbilisi and the Rainbow House
While a world tour holds many exciting and inspiring moments, it is also possible to encounter unexpected and challenging situations. The Harassment Incident in Tbilisi
I found a place to stay at the "Rainbow people's" house to explore Tbilisi. I arrived in the center of Tbilisi around 1:00 AM, and while I was trying to find the house, an Israeli man approached me. He started asking me questions, saying where I was from and that my style was different. In line with my humanistic approach to people, I started chatting, but it soon became uncomfortable. The man said he liked me and offered to pay for my hotel if I wanted. Since I didn't like his behavior, I refused the offer, but the man continued to walk with me and started touching my arm and giving me compliments. His comments, especially while touching my leg, and the fact that he kissed my hand made the situation even more disturbing. I honestly don't know how I escaped; I quickly got away from there and went to the Rainbow House.
The Rainbow House Experience
When I reached the Rainbow House, I encountered another situation that surprised me there. The doors of this house were open to everyone, and there were about 10 people inside. Everyone was sleeping wherever they found space; due to the animals coming in and out of the house, some people had issues with fleas and lice. The people were genuinely well-intentioned and living according to their own beliefs, but this environment was quite difficult for me. For two days, I struggled with itching, and this experience helped me understand what it's like to encounter all kinds of people while traveling. These people, who believe in a deity called PACHAMAMA, were living a free life in touch with nature.
After the Hard Times
After getting through these events, I had the opportunity to travel around Tbilisi by earning some money. Although these experiences were challenging, I realized once again how important it is to be prepared for any kind of situation you might encounter on a world tour.
